**caz**
as many of you have probably read on other posts of mine, my escort has its MOT next week! Is there anything I can do to make sure that it passes? I know it sounds like a silly question but I know the obvious ...tyres, lights etc. What about the emissions? Is there anything that will help it have improved emissions?Ive only owned the car for a couple of months so I dont know how the car is in regards to MOT requirements! mykez69
theres something you can put in your fuel that will help flush the engine, i know you can gt redex, but dont know if its any good or not, or if it helps with emissions
charlie74
just use a standard injector cleaner that you add to the fuel tank and change the airfilter,, also if you can take it for a good fast drive just before the test time so the engine is nice and hot, and dont be afraid to blow the cobwebs out of it ) Edited April 16, 2009 by charlie74

nick_ov_uk
have a look in the back of the haynes manual. they is a section about pre MOT checks, do what it says and the car will pass if no repairs need doing.
marty1979
Here's a good site that lists all thing to check. I have never had one mot failure out of all the 20+ cars that I've owned in the last 5 years. http://www.ukmot.com/manual.asp
stoney
or just take for to see what it fails on the fix it as all the basics are pieces of we we to do any way! ie lights etc thats all gd checkin them but if its a rotter than that all was a waist of time!! imo or just become an mot tester yourself and do your own!!
