finessescort Posted August 3, 2009 Share Posted August 3, 2009 my girlfriends dads just been on the fone, he's writing a book on Word and got a message from that paperclip along the lines of "you have placed alot of information on your clipboard do you want to make it available applications?" he clicked no and it totally wiped the page clean ... he then (for reasons i do not know) clicked save, i think he was tired. so he is left with a blank page... anyway the old file can be recoverd? is there a tempory storage bin?? are there any programs tht can help? i hate that paperclip! whoever at microsoft thought it up should be shot! robswany Posted August 7, 2009 Share Posted August 7, 2009 (edited) unfortunately if he has shut down word its gone forever. the auto-recovery only works if word is shut 'illegally' ie. loss of power, crash, etc. if he has cleared the document and saved it then thats what is done, like said if the document is still open then yea he can undo (Ctrl+Z). also there is a setting to the the paperclip off in the toolbar somewhere but can't remember where as i no longer use that version Edited August 7, 2009 by robswany Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
