Jaxx
Whats the lowest cc an escort gti starts at and whats the inssurrance like for an 18 year old? is it possible?
dutchkev
gti is 1.8 - group 13 insurance so its a nightmare for an 18 year old, you could get a 1.8 lx or Si for group 10 and it would be more managable (plus there the same 115bhp engine!) Ginger Dave
1.8 is the only size ford made the gti in . . . to my knowledge i have a 1.6 Si and i was quoted £1800 third party fire and theft when i was 18 and that was the cheapest i could find, that was almost 2 years ago now and with the economic climate we're in at the minute insurance prices are increasing by the minute lol you should be able to get a quote but it won't be cheap

LiamGTR
Whats the lowest cc an escort gti starts at and whats the inssurrance like for an 18 year old?As stated a GTi is a 1.8 so probably something daft like 1786cc then rounded up is it possible? It is possible to get insured on a GTi at 18...but it's expensive It would be wiser to go 1.6 as the insurance would be even cheaper still! But it's what your priorities are that costs If your not bothered about how much insurance is...GTi....if you are bothered....then an Si but if you are really bothered (i.e. a student like me) then a 1.6 is the best (i personally ended up with a 1.4) Edited September 9, 2009 by LiamGTR

KNITERIDER
the interior and the skirts and spats. the gti engine is the same as all the other 1.8's...except the 130spec models which were in the cabs and i think the lx's...there was also a 105spec 1.8 engine...but essentially the gti is and si with different interior and skirts spats with a higher insurance group

LiamGTR
So would a 1.6 GTi still be Insurange group 13 with it only being 1.6 as opposed to a 1.8 ? That's a right kick in the dick that advert considering I paid exactly that for a 1.4 Encore! Edited September 9, 2009 by LiamGTR
