Gentle Ben
Hi guys, I bought a set of 15" alloys from an Escort (Si I think) to put on my Escort Van. I have a problem in that the original nuts for the original steel wheels aren't butch enough, and the studs look like they are going to be too short as well. Now I've done a Google search and have found various ways round the problem, fitting longer studs and using spacers on large wheels etc. Just wanted to know the ways round it that people have tried and what you would all recommend etc. and on a budget! Don't want to be spending too much on a van, I only bought the wheels thinking I could slap them straight on and enjoy, I'm a bit miffed that I've gotta go to the hassle and expense of modifying the hubs to take the wheels! Gentle Ben
Aye, I gathered that! Anyway looks like I just found the answer in another thread - a link to an eBay shop selling extended studs and matching wheel nuts for alloys. Just a shame it looks like I've got to outlay another £50 on them before I can get the wheels fitted!

rodney,.
as above mate , just get alloy nuts , 55 and 75 vans are the same , if they ford wheels then thats all you need, i fitted alloys to all my vans with no problems other than a little bit of scrubbage on the rear inner arch , either bash it or leave it tho as its only minor and does it when no load in, heres current and a past van on alloys with no problems, http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v18/genocide-chaos/van5.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v18/genocide-chaos/Photo-0232-1.jpg
