Anti static wristbands?

I used to use them at work, not at home. If you're clumsy - get one.

I've messed inside a computer a few times and never broken anything, I have worked inside sensitive avionic components of aircraft though (during my training) and the computers used inside jets are worth up to half a million quid each for the uber sophisticated ones so we wore bands with them, and you wouldnt wanna NOT wear a band if a little zap can break a semiconductor worth thousands of pounds.

 

Sometimes the static discharge can be so gentle you dont even feel it, but the component will.

 

However as I said in the first sentance, I've done PCs in the past without a band and would do so again in the future.
