Right pc wiz kids. im upgrading my pc.i don't really want to change cpu.

what i want is

to use intel celeron d socket 775 dual core cpu

4 ram slots

some pci slots and pci slot for graphics card.

at least 4 sata ports.

i think my psu is only the 4 pin one. will check later.

i will need a decent grahics card that pref has 2 dvi ports. one for my dvi monitor then one to connect to my sony bravia tv. so i can watch blu ray movies from pc to bravia tv and have hd quality.

also can i get a external hard drive that is powered by usb rather than an ac adapter? as i want to make usb loader for my wii.

i been searching about but there is so much to choose from i am getting lost in decisions.

thanks

For your hard drive solution use this, its what im using now powered from the Wii (you have to use usb slot nearest the side though note)

http://direct.asda.com/LaCie-160GB-Mobile-...default,pd.html

Wii games ruduce in size when transfered to external drive too so you will get loads on one of those.

I have 12 loaded on now with 118gig still free.

If you need help let me know.

  • 2 weeks later...

whats ya budget mate? thats the main thing,

and as for the psu 4 pin thing? whats that? you mean the power jack near the CPU? which the new ones are 8? as the 4 will still work in the 8pin they are backwards compatible.

stick to the main brands, asus, gigabyte, asrock, evga, etc cant go wrong!

id go for a p35 / p45 chipset, they offer great features and do the trick nicely!

something like this one, the last one left though! so id snap it up quick!

and as for graphics, the Geforce 8000 series is a fab gen of card, but they are old compared to the newer stuff, but dont get me wrong, they still work wonders and can be picked up cheap online!

but id go for something from the GTX 200 range, or the ATi 5000 series, but again its all down to your budget!

am on msn if you need anything mate

is it that same psu i sold to you ages ago mate?
