stoo2000
I would think a 'mod' would be anything that has been altered or added since the car left the dealership.

Stu
You don't need to declare interior modifications, unless you want them insured. You should check this with someone qualified though, eg your insurance company as it's them you'll be claiming from in the event of an accident or theft. "Someone on the internet said" does not make you win your claim automatically. Any exterior or performance modifications have to be declared. SteveB
When my son was with Quinn cosmetic mods were OK, but they wouldn't take engine or suspension mods. Every company is different, so you need to ask.

Gonzo0
I would declare every single mod on the car (even the smallest of mods) Insurers will do anything to get out of paying out

Its also not all about you claiming for yourself, it covers you hitting a car such as a porsche which your unlikely to be able to cover the cost yourself. Insrance as a scam well its pushed high due to scams, false claims, wreckless drivers, people leaving accident scenes. It covers you for alsorts of possibilitys you could never dream of paying yourself in the event of a crash.
