well the renewals up for the end of the month, and being a year older and another years NCB i was expecting to atleast pay abit less. however when i rang the company for a renewal quote it ended up being nearly 400 quid more!!! so i told the guy i wasnt intersted and he said hold on and he'll see if he could get it down abit, he came back 5 mins later saying he could knock off 70 odd quid. NO THANKS.

 

so today i phoned up direct line and after 10 mins of hearing her spiel about being a UK based company which understands UK needs and has 52 days free cover i was quite hopeful the quote would be a goodun. she quoted 100 pound more than the first at just under a grand.

 

I'm 34, married, no convictions/points never made a claim and drive a 1.8 escort. how is nearly 1000 quid a year right.

 

ended up paying 380 with another company but the excess is 750.

 

insurance is a joke no wonder theres a 1 million uninsured drivers

Where the hell do you live? The cost of insurance is skyrocketing but a grand for your age and NCB etc is terrible, it must be your area.

Do you have any mods to your car? How many years have you been driving also?

my mrs is 36 and insures a bmw fully comp for around 2-300 quid!!!
