Been slowly building a PC over the last short while.

Intentions are not so much a high end gaming rig, more of a very capable and quick PC which will also be happy to play most games on all highish settings

So the Spec so far....

Coolermaster Elite 430 Windowed Case – black £41.99

Asus P7P55D £103.99

Thermaltake Frio CPU cooler £36.99

2x Coolermaster SickleFlow 120mm LED case Fan £11.90

OCZ MODXSTREAM 600w PSU £46.59

Total £241.46

And Left to do... i might choose a different GPU but i haven't decided yet

Not set in stone yet but….

Core i5-760 £144.98

XFX ATI 6850 £169.99

Samsung Spinpoint F3 1tb £43.49

G.Skill Ripjaw 4gb 1600 £72.84

Samsung BH-123L Blue Ray ROM DVD RW £52.86

LG E2250 V Widescreen LED monitor £153.98

TOTAL Estimate £879.60

Some Pics of the build so far...

That heatsink is a monster, can you actually use all of your memory slots with it installed? Looks pretty close.

no over laps the 1st slot by a couple of mm :( but im going to be running 4gb 2x2gb of dual channel, uses the 2nd and 4th slot anyway so itll all be good lol, Just means if i later want to get more RAM id either need to get another cooler or look at a thinner fan, they are pretty chunky lol

You may not need 2 fans on it tbh. The one nearest the rear of the case could be used as a draw to move the air over the fins, and the one bolted to the case at the back could be used as the exhaust. Have you done any heat tests?

weighs about 1kg, ive seen heavier :)

Noctua NH-D14 is over 200g heavier

If it get's too much you could always drill holes into the motherboard backplate... crack out the tap and dye set and screw the bugger the case... case takes the weight and still provides you with 1kg of cooling powwarrrr :thumb:

ITS ALIVE!!! :D Got it up from 2.8Ghz now running 3.6Ghz using the auto tuner in the bios, i know itll push to a stable 4Ghz but im happy with 3.6Ghz, Delighted with how well it OCd! just out the box

Only issue i had was the timings of the RAM were wrong but just resetting them from 9-9-9-24 to 8-8-8-24 its now running at appx 1540Mhz

Its REALLY quick, fastest thing ive ever owned for sure, Seems very stable and has not seen over 55 on prime, idles at 30, This is all the fans set on the silent profile too

I borrowed an old GS8300 and a dvd drive from a mate to get it going, Soon ill have a better GPU (have decided on the new ati 6950)

Ill probably end up installing an SSD at some point
