eetaylog
FYI.. my motherboard developed the sandybridge problem with the SATA ports.. it only affects 2 out of the 6 ports on my mobo and as I only have a bd-rom hooked up it's not a big issue.. debating whether to RMA or not.. I didnt know about this issue, ive just been catching up on it. Does it only affect the i5 and i7 cpu's or are the i3's susceptible? It's not the CPU, it's the sandy bridge chipset. It only affected the first batches afaik. Is there a way to check whether a particular mobo is affected? I was looking at this Asus for an i3 i was going to buy but dont want to get stung. EDIT: Actually never mind, ive just noticed that the B3 revision means that the SATA ports are verified and the chipset is safe.
