Internet Explorer 9 has been under development for the past year, going through a number of platform previews, two betas. After a year-long wait, Microsoft finally hit the latest Release Candidate milestone with Internet Explorer 9.

 

The latest HTML5-compliant browser from Microsoft brings a number of speed improvements over previous versions of IE, including a refreshed UI. Internet Explorer 9 comes with a number of improvements and new features, including pinned websites that integrate with the Windows 7 taskbar, jumplist support, a new tab layout page, a redesigned notification system to alert users of downloads and add-ons, a SmartScreen filter, tracking protection and a ton more features.

 

The new JavaScript engine, Chakra, brings Internet Explorer 9 to the top of the class of the top browsers in terms of speed. Compared to other browsers, Internet Explorer 9 outperforms in JavaScript benchmark results. IE9 also includes hardware acceleration to help improve overall speed.

 

In the early betas, Microsoft demonstrated some of the new components of IE9, including a tab tear-off Windows Aero-style snap feature. The ability to compare two websites side-by-side makes it easy to compare products on the web with IE9.

I DL'd 9 a while back onto my new lappy running win7 pro (4gig ram)and now.....

 

someone please tell me I can bin this fecker off without having to do anything to techie and nerd essential.

 

I want my IE8 back.....

 

IE8 didn't:

 

randomly place huge demands on cpu usage even if the page isn't loading or refreshing or doing anything whatsofeckinever

 

force you to repeatedly have to hit a link button over and feckin over until it finally decides it will let you go to said link

 

slow down every feckin site and load at such a annoyingly slow pace you get fecked off and turn it off again

 

immediately have to hit the refresh button on a page that hasn't even loaded yet just to get it to load in the first place

 

give you a blank image-less screen when you try and maximize a streaming image or video which then forces you to maximize, minimize, maximize, minimize until for some unexplained reason it decides "ok Ive fecked him off enough now" and finally works.

 

I have updated everything

 

service pack one if happily installed

 

flash player is perfectly up to date

 

"Troubleshooting the issue" might aswell be called "pointlessly sit and stare at the feckin screen till we eventually tell you that we cant resolve the issue and would you like to go randomly trawling through countless nerd sites desperately trying to understand the words coming out of the mouth of a bloke who has never likely even seen a minge beyond a midget masochist porn site and instead measures his life achievement by xboxlive rating".

 

someone please just say "you can just use add/remove programs to get rid and re-install ie8 again".....anything more than that and the feckin lappy's goin the pc shop in town and they can feckin deal with it.

Not sure where your specific problems lie but running great here on a far lower spec pc.

using aroung 18 meg ram tops and very very low cpu.

Your using the proper release I gather and not the beta?

Mine was done through windows 7 update.

Hard to think what your problem might be then if I'm really honest. When I said this pc im trialing it on is low spec I mean really low spec compared to yours, i'm running it on a P4 single core 2.3 ghz and 512 ddr1 ram, ide drive. So you can see the vast difference between what we are running and im having a very smooth pleasant experience using IE9. You must surely have issues somewhere else thats causing this? I have seen malware & the like cause this in explorer, are you sure this isnt an issue here?

I only mentioned about through the windows 7 update system as I only became aware this was part of the update a few days ago unlike the seperate download of march, you said you installed it some time ago?

the non-beta came along with other updates a while back (before sp1 was released), much as you described.

 

as for malware, tbh I cant be 100% sure if something isn't skulking about behind the scenes, all I can say is MSE has been present since purchase and kept up to date religiously by me so if something got past then that's what it had to get past.

 

what barring MSE is worth using to have a look?

 

coincidentally CCleaner has been ran a couple of times since to make sure I didn't have "any obvious registry issues" (that's a direct quote given that I had no feckin idea what my Tech mate was on about)

 

btw, whats with the late night vigil......you shat the bed?

I dont know whether the CC thing was an afterthought on his part, he simply mentioned it'd be a good idea to use it to keep the "registry" tidy, I didnt ask whether that had anything to do with the IE issue. tbh........its likely just because it was one of the rare things he mentioned that I actually took in
