reese646
Lol yeah it was all a bit scary, everything was running off one feed, or chopped into god knows what but luckily I've got my head round it and remedied 95% of the problems and what's left I'll sort next weekend. As for the work on the kit I think anyone who's seen the car in It's glory days will stand to it been top class, 7 grands worth at the time I believe as I've got the receipts somewhere, and its still not bad now to be honest 8 years on, other than the sills, but I'm replacing both side inner and outer sills and the fiberglass ones over the winter, as well as repairing the bumper that's been reversed into a wall at some point. reese646
Been a bit quiet on here as I've been busy but as the current brakes are causing me headaches I should be fitting these nice evo8 330mm setup tomorrow, pictures to follow pretty custom and don't think I've seen another one like it. http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y141/reese646/IMAG0259.jpg Edited September 9, 2011 by reese646
reese646
All fitted. http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y141/reese646/IMAG0260.jpghttp://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y141/reese646/IMAG0263.jpg And also binned the back section of the exhaust for a 4" RS2000 one which sounds much nicer, its still looking far from finished but slowly does it lol, hope you like the brakes

reese646
I'll get a better pic tomorrow, you can't appreciate how big they are to be honest, the calipers are over 12" long and dwarf focus Rs brembo's, stops well too lol
c.jones
What size discs are being used? Also Did you make a bracket... I recommend pics of the back of calipers whilst it mounted
reese646
Yeah made the caliper bracket myself, the calipers need a little work with a grinder to stop them fouling, the discs are focus Rs ones which need either spacing 6mm behind the disc or a little bit more finesse with the bracket. You can make this setup for around £270 if you use budget discs like I have for now and pick up the calipers for £170-180. Fitted them 5 years ago to my Rs2000 but had problems which turned out to be brake lines so they've been in the shed till now.Really happy with them to be honest this time, have made the car look a lot better, and will post some pics of the back of the caliper next time I have the wheels off. TC-DNB
Brakes look sick. I just sold a set of these at work for £110. If I'd known they would fit I would have kept them (spams head) lol Cars slowly getting there man, good work!
C6 CYA
can you get a pic of the bracket you used to mount the brakes cheers chris
reese646
Basically its a piece of straight plate, about 30mm wide by 8-10mm thick, the modifying comes in grinding out the caliper for it to fit, but if you'd seen a evo caliper they very heavy duty and there's plenty to spare without risking it getting weak. Stops on a dime. You can see what has been removed in these pics if you look close, plus a pic from when I had them on last time. http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y141/reese646/S1030309.jpghttp://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y141/reese646/S1030310.jpghttp://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y141/reese646/4.jpg

reese646
Yeah as said there a fair bit bigger than the focus items, as the discs are 330 side to side and the evo calipers are over 300mm long and deeper
