Ahmotorsport
What I'm getting at is if people are just going to join this thread to abuse some one it isn't really appropriate is it?, this thread is to show progress, not past mistakes.Agreed. But this is a present mistake. I'm all for engine swaps and making it go faster, but it's going to be slower and to get an RS2000 up to tuned Rs Turbo horsepower is going to cost a rubbish tonne more! I just can't see the logic. escort4x4
I dont understand why you would want to restore an iconic car being the S1 RS Turbo and stick a rs2000 engine it, now i have to rs2000's myself but if i had a S1 restoration project then id wanna re-build the engine that come with it. This car deserves to be rebuilt properly, no cutting corners, so things like stickers, do it properly, its a future investment, you cutting corners future buyers if you do decide to sell will pick these up as they all no what there looking out for. You also wanna know why parts are expensive for these cars, its down to the fact that there very rare, but also because your not the only one restoring them, people buy them for spares, You dont really help yourself on here by trying to be a wheeler dealer with silly over priced cars etc. So do yourself a favour, restore this car properly, if it takes you longer then do it, otherwise dont do it, as we all know the S1 Turbo is not only rare but in mint condition is worth a small fortune.Gd luck restoring it, keep the pictures coming, but also prove critics wrong and forget about the rs2000 engine and stick a fully rebuilt s1 rs turbo engine in it

Just a thought, put the Rs engine in it, all rebuilt, clean, tidy, painted etc, flog the car for a healthy sum, buy a smart looking mk3 escort and chuck an RS2000 engine in it if that's what you're after. bad ass cossie
Another s1 bites the dust. You may aswell do what you usually do feck it up the get bored with an sell it, because from what I've see you have all these plans for the cars you buy start of with good intentions then that goes out the window. No your not hurting any one but the fact that the cars your doing done properly could be worth money so I'd say your not an enthusiast at all. I'll give £150 for it, then start again on it and that includes stripping it back to bare metal who knows whats been bodged up under that paint could be hiding a multitude of sins and with your past work it probably is. Best thing you can do is practice on a £50 pile of Shyte, oops sorry you've turned a car that could be worth thousand into a pile of Shyte forgot you do it the wrong way round and loose money.LOL didnt say i was an enthusiast and for £150 yeah ok when can you collect it ??and with my past work lol never done any mate sorry and for a £50 pile of shite ok sell me your car then

Ahmotorsport
ok sell me your car thenLol Andy's Escort is a minter. It's not that everyone dislikes you, it's the way you go about things, if this is a genuine s1 rs turbo, you know what they're worth, of course you do, so why mess with it if you're into profit? I hope you change your mind for your sake, this could be a nice little car.
Andyb0127
Ok you want to prove me wrong you said this car was a dog when you got it. So when did the car get taken back to baremetal and that means whole car shot blasted/dipped which ever you chose, then before any repairs are started the whole car should be epoxy primed and I mean everything, then you can carry out welding to areas that require it also using zinc/weld thru primer on any baremetal to welded, then epoxy primed those areas once allWelding is done carry all the filler work, then apply four coats of polyester spray filler block this with p180 then p240 the. You can apply your high build primer as needed and prep as usual for paint, re-seal and stonechip underneath. If you have done all of the above FairPlay but something tells me you haven't and it's just been welded, filler, primed, painted. Oh regards to my escort mines all original never been painted and doesn't need any, oh sorry you don't do original cars lol....
