bad ass cossie
Hi all thought i would start a thread of my b reg s1 rst when i first got the car it was a dog rust every were arches wings back panel front panel etc so when i sold my rs1800 i thought i would buy some panels and get them welded on didnt take any pics of the car before i started the work as to be honest it was rubbish i thought i would wait untill it was gettin a bit better so here some pics for you all al probs get negative comments like always but hey owell here goes the first pic was my fiesta little spot in my mate garage.http://www.evo-host.co.uk/getimg/28196.jpgthis is the shell after we striped the lot out and get it in primer also you can just see my brand new bonnet there in the corner http://www.evo-host.co.uk/getimg/28197.jpgthen the rest are after it was painted in ford frozen white still need to do the bonnet bootlid doors bumpers kit etc thought i would start the shell first and i also need to finish smoothing the engine bay as we primered it and thought it looks rough so going for a smooth look then paint it.http://www.evo-host.co.uk/getimg/28198.jpghttp://www.evo-host.co.uk/getimg/28199.jpghttp://www.evo-host.co.uk/getimg/28200.jpghttp://www.evo-host.co.uk/getimg/28201.jpghttp://www.evo-host.co.uk/getimg/28202.jpgthats it for now will be doing more work on it in the next few days. McRic
Looking good so far! Why would you want to smooth the bay though? That'll cripple the value. Done right this could be worth a few bob. Ie restored nicely to pretty much standard.
Stu
What spec are you restoring it to? Frozen White is a 2008 colour.
Grant Gti
^^^ True but it kicks the rubbish out of diamond cream, Few things i dont understand, 1, Why are you leaving the inside of the car? 2, is it a gen s1 as it looks black inside although dusty, 3, why is the car in paint when IMO the join between the lower nsr quarter and back panel isn't "finished" as you can still see the weld by the looks of things? I'm a little worried about this thread please take your time and do yourself justice with a car like this
Stu
Has it also been painted with the bodykit fitted?
HIGHTOWER
Did you get it with all the parts, or just the shell? This is gonna cost you a LOT of money if you din't get any parts with it! Personally I'd have got all the doors and bonnet sprayed at the same time as doing the shell... Andyb0127
Would of been nice to see it kept original no chance of that as its not been painted in its original colour. Only go the same way as the fiesta Arthur daly it back together then sell it before its finished thinking I'll make a profit.  Shame another S1 bites the dust, better of selling it as it is let some one do it properly judging by the way.the back panel joins the quarter looks shyte doesn't even look like its been prepped properly. You bring the negative attitude on yourself with half @rse attempts at rebuilding cars. bad ass cossie
Has it also been painted with the bodykit fitted?no all the kit has been taken off the car Did you get it with all the parts, or just the shell? This is gonna cost you a LOT of money if you din't get any parts with it! Personally I'd have got all the doors and bonnet sprayed at the same time as doing the shell...it came as a complete running car engine was taken out so i could paint up the block etc ^^^ True but it kicks the rubbish out of diamond cream, Few things i dont understand, 1, Why are you leaving the inside of the car? 2, is it a gen s1 as it looks black inside although dusty, 3, why is the car in paint when IMO the join between the lower nsr quarter and back panel isn't "finished" as you can still see the weld by the looks of things? I'm a little worried about this thread please take your time and do yourself justice with a car like this the inside of the car is primered ready for paint we thought it would be best to do it after the shell was painted because we didnt want the line catchin the paint on the out side. You bring the negative attitude on yourself with half @rse attempts at rebuilding cars.its seam sealer you cant even see it dont no why it looks like that on the pic end of the day thats yor own thoughts the fiesta was far to gone for me and wouldnt of made any thin after it was done had my eye on this s1 for ages as it was a mates Looking good so far! Why would you want to smooth the bay though? That'll cripple the value. Done right this could be worth a few bob. Ie restored nicely to pretty much standard.the only thing changed is the colour realy but iam up-gradeingthe wheels to comps so it will look like this when completehttp://www.evo-host.co.uk/getimg/28203.jpg Did you get it with all the parts, or just the shell? This is gonna cost you a LOT of money if you din't get any parts with it! Personally I'd have got all the doors and bonnet sprayed at the same time as doing the shell...i like to do things off the car end of the day its 2k paint with every thin off the car we can see were painted and what not both shell and parts are haveing 5 coats of paint aswell as 3 coats of primer flatted with 400 wet and dry re-primed with 3 coats the flatted with 800 wet and dryjust to get a good even finish on it theres more to come yet dropin the suspention etc to stone chip the arches etc then paint them white. Has it also been painted with the bodykit fitted?i think i no why you say that its because the nuts on the back of the kit were rusted and couldnt get them off so i cut the nuts off but taked a weld over the holes on the rear quarters etc and smoothed them gonna bond the kit back on Would of been nice to see it kept original no chance of that as its not been painted in its original colour. You bring the negative attitude on yourself with half @rse attempts at rebuilding cars.as its been said frozen white looks alot cleaner than diamond white diamond white is more of a cream colour and imo looks dirty in some light as were frozen white is much brighter and more fresh.
