Surely that'll be scrapped.

It doesn't sound right that you'd only get £600 once painted, though. The wheels must be worth half of that.

Maybe no MOT? Maybe had a bump??

why would it be scrapped??

and the alloys am keepin them gonna put some others on it i probably get more than 600 for it never had a bump the guys garage it was in has been shut down and was half finish he had no were to put the car as he as no drive or out there is no mot on just yet

You bought it for £300 and selling for £600 don't see the point really.

Custom gold basecoat at least. Even if you your brother inlaw gets it cheap, you'll still probably need 3-4 litres approx £80-100 for that.

Gold metal flake probably looking around £15-20 for that

Clear laquer 5 litres £70-80 for half decent quality one.

Then there's the fact that you need the right set up on spray gun for that, then theres the fact that laquer will not sit flat a have rough finish, due to the metal flame causing this, so extra coats of laquer will be needed, normally around 6-8 coats, problem you'll have there if its done in an oven you will run the risk of solvent boil.

Even if it's air dryed you will still run the risk of a drop in gloss levels, which may not even and polish up. Best solution for that is to apply four coats of laquer so it's got a nice build to it, leave it for a week then flat it down with p1500 and apply another four coats of laquer, this way it will sit nice and flat with a better finish.

Just seems a lot of work for not a lot of profit.

My brow in law has is own garage with booth etc he does it for a livin and been doin it over 15 years so i think he knows what to do he also worked for 1 of the best body shops in blackpool as some people on here will know the place they did custom jobs on cars it used to be called kustom kreations then changed to pj autobodies :)

This reply doesn't counter the fact that paint is EXPENSIVE and your bro in law aint gonna supply it for free, i also dont think he's gonna bend over backwards to spend days painting it for free either. Then you have the cost of a set of wheels to stick on it (they'll need to be nice to get someone to buy the car) So selling it for £600 still gives the impression youre going to make zero profit (especially if youre gonna split it with your bro in law)

So £300 spent on car

£60 on paint (does that include the primer and laquer?)

At least £150 on a set of rims to do it justice

A whole load of manhours from you and your bro in law prepping and painting it then rebuilding it

Sell for £600, thats £110 profit (MAXIMUM, you may need to spend a lot more than £150 on rims), so your bro in law will have worked his ass off to make you a few quid, if my bro in law asked me to spend many many hours helping him paint a fixer upper for him so he could make £110 while i made nothing i'd tell him to Fcuk right off. If it was gonna be his car then sure, but not if it was just an "investment"

If you were smart you'd be thinking of a higher asking price to make it worth your while

I love these civic coupés, one of my favourite cars, yes this one needs a tidy but those ones at the start of the first fast and furious film were so nice. I nearly bought one instead of my first escort, if i had I'd be into civics right now. This model looks far better than any of it's successors, I hate the new hatch back style ones.

This is still one of my favourite cars, not this one obviously, not yet anyway, bad boy bonnet alone ruins it not to mention gold!
