So its leading me to think I have it too high, I don't mind dropping the price a little, is it now the case of better cars can be had for the same sort of price ?. Yes you are right you could find loads but how much of them don't need major work . I see loads of escort for sale but most are rotten time and time again I see people spend loads on a escort then break it because its rotten. Gti and Rs 2000s are more expensive to insure than the si sure its not that cheap being a si, I see people buy a escort gti rep it and mondeos etc and this has it all fitted. I think people would rather spend little to begin with then have the big fight keeping on top of their escort. Is the escort mk6 scene dead on its feet ? I think its looking that way. I had no need to look ans search for your advert.All I know is that I wouldnt be buying an Escort for £800 these days unless it was something special or maybe a convertible.You show pics of the rust starting to surface, these arches rust from the inside out so unfortunatly by the time you start to see it you will not save it (only prolong it).Granted yours looks a tidy example and with 12 months MOT I would possibly pay £500 for it.Just my experience & opinion of course. danj8608 Posted April 3, 2012 Author Share Posted April 3, 2012 I would welcome any inspection to find any rot on this car only advisories was bodykit covering sills as you all keep saying sub 500 what can you expect to pick up escort wise that doesn't need chassis legs or full replacement arches etc. If this was rotten I wouldn't of bought it nor would I be selling it on a escort forum, I am prepared Togo lower but not sub 500 that's just daft. It just goes to show that escorts are not the top of peoples list to buy and mod anymore, I'm used to things sitting on my drive, remember the wench ?
