davey1991
I don't understand why you would think that? They are esentially the same spring, same shape and profile...Well it works for me and several others, stress tested them on a spring rig so i'm happy with them.Got the standard Corsa ones on too lift it up a bit sits much better. If i could afford the escort estate ones i'd buy them but this car was a freebie and i don't want the suspension any harder.
scottybo
im sure someone else who knows more about this would correct me if my doubts are unfounded and by lowering the car you would have to make the suspension stiffer to compensate for the fact that its lowered, otherwise surely it would just scrub the wheels/floor etc
davey1991
I'm assuming i probably do.. This is what i do for a living, having help from an experienced racer also helped.Lowering springs do not have too be stiffer, most lowering spring manafacturers assume that people are doing it for a performance gain and stiffer springs in some cases improve performance.(Although it could be argued that a harder spring will bounce more, and therefore reduce traction depending on the surface.)Height is not only dictated by the length of the spring which is what i took into account, yes if you took a spring the same length as a 60mm lowering spring with standard spring rate, you'd hit everything as it would lower it much more which is why i spent a while calculation spring rates and the way they effect the drop.I know i may be new here but i'm not new too the car world or make do modifications.I don't want too come accross rude at all sorry if it seems that way just sharing what i know.Just for reference. Many Micra users use matiz rear springs as a direct replacement for their front springs. Also known too use suzuki alto and swift springs.Another things i have done in the past is find a shock with a lower spring mount and changing the top mounts, thus lowering the car without changing the spring at all. For example. This is a complete Daweoo Matiz front leg Below a standard Micra leg, you can see the hub mount bolts all line up and dimensions are the same. Although the bottom spring cup sits further down the shock, after swapping the topmounts over it lowered the car about 50mm. Another thing too concider is that ALOT of suspension components aswell as many others are made by the same companies, in the same factories, too the same tollerances. I have put just a bit of thought into this because i initially also had doubts about certain strength issues but much research has proven otherwise.. Haha, rant over. davey1991
Thanks, the wheels are HSR racing. The dials where really easy too fit, i was surprised. Only thing is they squeal slightly when on the "Blue" setting. Wheels after a quick refurb, tyres will be cleaned.http://i393.photobucket.com/albums/pp20/1991davey/2012-10-06142433.jpghttp://i393.photobucket.com/albums/pp20/1991davey/2012-10-06142442.jpg
