At least get a compression test because from the very vague description you gave it could be low compression

this thread has really cheered me up can't stop chuckling to myself now. best thread ever!! I know it's a few days old but still makes me chuckle reading back over it.

If it's cold. it could be the fuel freezing up in the inlet manifold. try revving it too start it. I work for the aa, and the amount of people say their car won't start, and they don't give it a rev when starting.

It could be the spark plugs, if you do rev it, when starting it, you might flood it.

The worse call outs i've ever had are Audi's. My car won't start. Press the brake pedal.
