tomsy
I've got a set of angel eyes to fit, the ones i've bought are supposed to plug straight in to existing loom. Was going to have a go at fitting them yesterday but was put off by the cold, when i got them out the box i noticed there was one black and one white wire with no plug on the end what are these for and is the rest of the wiring as straight forward as i was led to believe on the advert. PeeWee
the black and white wires are supposed to be wired into the plug these wires light up the angel eye rings!Yes, same here, they were already wired up on mine. There should also be a small instruction sheet that shows how they wire up. This may help? Ford Escort Head Light installation procedureInspect the new set of Ford Escort headlights to make sure you can complete the installation with the tools you have available. For safety, disconnect your Escort battery's negative battery terminal. If your stereo requires a key code in order to reboot, please be sure you have it before disconnecting the battery. Also, be aware that you will probably have to reset your clocks etc after reconnecting the battery later.Park on a level surface facing a wall that you could shine your lights on later to aim your Ford Escort headlamps.Apply painters tape along the edges of your bumper and grill along the Escort headlights to prevent any scratches that might occur while removing and installing head lights. If uninstalling your Ford Escort front bumper is required, make sure you have a safe surface to place the bumper on and that the working surface below your Escort is also safe in the event the bumper falls down.Without touching the glass, uninstall the stock Ford Escort Head Lamp, parking, and signal bulbs (as applicable). Depending on the bulb type, this is usually done by just turning the bulb a quarter turn counter clockwise and pulling back. Some vehicles (especially European vehicles) require a few extra steps, such as unclipping a retaining wire or removing a plate that holds the bulb in. Once the bulb is removed, place them in their original container (if available). If they are cold, you could also store them in a ziplock type of bag.Unbolt the bolts on the Ford Escort Headlight with a socket wrench. Check the new Escort headlights to help locate the installation points on the old Escort head lights…in almost all cases the bolt locations will be exactly the same.Install the new Ford Escort headlights and bolt in place. For Ford Escort Crystal Headlights, reinstall the old bulbs into the new headlights. For projectors, install the end of the male bulb wire plugs on the projectors to your Escort's stock harness. Reinstall the parking and signal light bulbs as applicable. For halos, splice the negative wire to your Escort's parking lights negative wire and repeat with the positive wire.Reconnect your battery and turn on your Ford Escort headlamps and adjust until they are both level with the vehicle. The adjusters usually consist of gear looking mechanisms on the back or top of the headlight that are turned via a centrally placed screw and are usually.Reconnect all connections and tighten all bolts in place. also may help?http://www.escortevolution.co.uk/forums/in...p;hl=projectors Edited March 4, 2013 by PeeWee

tomsy
Finally got round to fitting my angel eyes today which wasn't a problem, however the wiring has been when i plugged the multi plug connectors together this is what i got. http://www.evo-host.co.uk/getimg/30849.jpg As you can see different lights are lit in either lamp, could it be possible for the wiring in the multipug for angels to be wrong. The other problem i have is where do these wires connect to i know the black and white wires are for the halos but how do they wire in. http://www.evo-host.co.uk/getimg/30850.jpg And what are the other wires for ?. cherrybeard
I have these lights and when they arrived all the wiring had fell out the connectors. This is what I plan on doing. - Mark up the wires from the angel eye lights in pairs (live and earth) as indicator, main beam etc- Turn ignition on and turn on sidelights, indicators etc one at a time to see which wires are running 12v in the connector for the existing lights.- Match up the wires. tomsy
Didn't want to start pulling wires out of the multiplugs but im pretty certain 1 of the multipugs is wired wrongly so what your sugesting might have to be the way forward. Might have a look on youtube see if i can find some guidance on there as well.
tomsy
All sorted now just as i suspected 1 of the plugs was wired incorrectly, it would seem chinese standards of quality control are not the same as ours.
