horizon
I have done a search but couldn't find anything specific. I currently have a mk5 track car which is rusty so thinking of re-shelling into a mk6. I would like to re-use as much as I can so: Can I take the rear disk beam off the mk5 and put on the mk6 including cables etc? Can I transfer the front mtx75 based subframe, I am thinking that I could then retain my mk5 suspension and change the top hats
bongo
yes mate you can use the rear beam, its a common conversion for mk6's as far as i know the only difference in the subframe is a extra gearbox mount on the underside of the subframe, but you can definately use it,but it wont make a difference in using suspension, you can use mk5 suspension on the mk6 subframe as you said you'll have to change the top hats, also there's something slightly different with the antiroll bar/brake pipe bracket on the mk5 leg to the mk6,if you search mk5 and then mk6 on ebay you'll se what i mean. horizon
Thanks for the reply, I think using the mk5 subframe, it will use the mk5 anti roll bar so hopefully the issue with drop links goes away.
