Right I was reading the post, and noticed you had changed the steering wheel on the mk6 before you sold it.

 

How the hell did you get the air bag off? I know about the car being disconnected via the battery etc.

 

 

I've been trying and pulling the thing for about the last two hours with no luck, it seems to pull out at the bottom then at the sides, but it just won't come off more than a 1/2 a centimeter for any reason at all!

 

 

Anyone?

theres 2 5.5 mm bolts holding it in

yup, there behind the steerin wheel, each side. then it just unclips wiv a lil bit of force

Sheiza bitte!!! Right, good stuff, going to go and re-disconnect the battery again and get this 3 spoker fitted, somehow!

Dont forget to flick the ignition and take the steering wheel lock off before you disconnect, or you'll never get the wheel off the splines.

 

Sounds obvious doesn't it? Foxed me for a good half hour Mine didn't have an airbag but could be your problem? Piece of cake otherwise tho

K = 92/ Early '93, so no airbag as i said, didn't come in until '94 spec from the very end of '93 onwards

 

IE/ Later L-Regs onwards

they dunno they born do the eh, some of em?

 

They have their own website/ club and they don't even know the cut-off dates for non-airbag equipped models!
