Escort Singh Posted May 30, 2005 Share Posted May 30, 2005 Here's what i managed to do on Saturday with my escort, Pulling out of a parking bay (Checked mirrors and blind spot) and BAM! He came out of nowhere because he was speeding/overtaking, cop said I was'nt looking properly, the fact that i'm a new driver (Driven for 14 months with 1 No Claim's Bonus, now lost) Incompetent cop failed to check if third party even saw me This is how it looks now: ....And the damage done: - Front driver side wing (Dented) - Front driver side head lamp (Needs Replacing + bulbs) - Front Bumper (Needs Replacing) - Front Bonnet (Slight dent on the left hand side) - Front panel (Slightly bent) This was the position of my car, the bottom of the picture is the hazard line, he might have tried to overtake as he saw me pulling out, hence the damaged to the front of my car: Hey, check out the third party damage Also put a great big hole in the passenger door The accident's still my fault, third party passenger/witnesses claim and cop believed him I'll take it in to the bodyshop tommorow and get it sorted. Just a 'typical' accident but as the other car was already 'on the road' and you were pulling out the assumptions are a foregone conclusion really. I went to the body shop my insurance company told me, they told me third party wasn’t insured another £400 excess on top Cost of damage is in excess of £490 + Courtesy car (Vauxhall Corsa) BUT my dad's friend repairs Black London Taxi cabs and he said £190 (Exc. Courtsey car). I'm also having the rear bumper resprayed because someone smashed it in Tesco's three months ago The £190 breaks down as follows: - Paint new front bumper £60- Paint whole rear bumper + fill crack £60- Paint and pull dent from driver side wing £30 (He's a miracle worker, no need -for a new wing)- Paint small part of bonnet + pull dent from bonnet and align with wings £40- Fit new driver side headlamp £Free Parts are only £98 + VAT @ 17.5% in total from Fordco (Slogan "Only break Fords & Horses") via Parts gateway Excellent price, if anyone wants their body kits painted in London, e-mail me beforehand karandeep@lycos.co.uk and I’ll pass on details to him, he's a pro for the price. Dropping it in later this evening, will be ready by Sunday along with the third party who gets a horsewhipping for his rightfully said "w@nky mk4 polo" Insurance's Bodyshop will have it ready in 2 weeks time but i'm going to the Download festival 2005 next week and need a car with large boot capacity (My Escort AKA..
