Replacing speedo cable

how o I replace the speedo cable on my 95 escort,how easy is it ?

what tools will I need,does whole dash need to come out ?or is it done from undrneath steering column,please help wat about the other nd,how eas hard is that ?what are the chances of seeting the airbag of while messing in the dash ? cheers for any help,billy

if its like my 92 escort its just a single cable type thing that goes from the gearbox through a grommit in2 the dash behind the speedo console, all ya have to do is plug it into the back, took me no longer that 10mins to fit

itll fit on your gear box, and then it goes through the bit in the middle at the back, you can unplug it there so u dont need to get the dash out (i think)

done a few in my time and yep its a peace a Pee. take the dashboard covers off that surround the instrument panel (thats all you need to take off the dash) then unscrew the instrument panel and take out (this can be a bit of a b*stard sumtimes) the take of the speedo cable (its the biggest cable there is) then take it off the gearbox and just pull it through SLOWLY, be carefull though.

speedo cable is now done,thanks for the help,would love to see it done in ten minutes tho,without leaving tell tale signs u had been "at" the dash,lol
