Hi guys.

Sorry to be a pain but i still av no central locking

Not even a click or whir!!!

Tried replacing main contol unit with one from scrappy but still nothing.

some one said it should be fuse 29 but mine only goes up to 28???

Any way i can test each door seperately without using the key. :nutter:

if u have still got ur handbook for the car have a look in there. somewhere in there, there should be a guide there to what each fuse does. if not im sure someone on here would be able to have a quick look for u mate. i would but i got no escort anymore lol

No i havnt tried either of them.

mainly as i thought it unlikely that all 5 doors would be disconnected.Unless one would cause a break in the circuit.Sorry for being a bit vague but im not that good with car electrics.

There are 2 unusual yellow wires pushed in by 2 seperate fuses that looks like someones bodged summit.Sure they go into the cl unit as well??? :))

Also im a bit confused as fuse 19 which haynes says is central locking is missing as in blank holder with no metal inserts????

Maybe someones fitted one and jumped some wires into the fusebox? What do you think??? :))

dunno if this is any help matey,

but according to the ford hand book for my 98 gti, theres a auxillary fuse for the central locking locked on the back of the fuse box,

the fuse boxes changed alot, so your could be totally different,

Is the black alarm sensor that fits round the actual door lock not come lose or knackered IIRC this has an effect on the central locking too. Best way to check is open bonnet and you should see a bonnet pin with a rubber boot on it on the slam panel. Press this about 10-15 times till you hear a beep sound, The car is now in test mode, Put the key in the drivers lock and lock it you should hear another beep now unlock it and it should beep again. Try this on both doors AND boot lock see if they all working ok. OH and to get it back out of test mode just leav it for 2-3 mins and it'll beep again to say it's exited test mode
