right then

I would like good quality sounds, reasonably loud, WITHOUT subs or 6x9's

I want it all to fit in the standard speaker positions in a MK6 so it looks factory, but sounds a fuckload better

It doesn't have to be cheap, but don't want it to cost any insane amount

What would you suggest? :)

i personally prefer JL audio after hearing many a JL system, the components in mine are quality, nice and crisp sound :) tweeters definitely make a difference too :thumb:

as for specific models i cant say, u wud have to talk to audio specialists for that as situations vary :)

trouble with JL is its pricey for a good sytem, kenny spunked 2.5 to 3k on the audio in mine at one point, all JL audio, but he got rid of most of it cuz he wasnt in car often enuf to warrant it lol, profesionally fitted etc too, as i found out wen looking for cables in the car

if ya want m8 i can nip into cel-direct this week and ask them wot they say?

You won't get a good sound quality from replacement speakers. The doors in an Escort just don't provide you with enough space and insulation, so you lose all your bass. The rears are slightly better, but tricky to find OEM replacements (all generic 5x7's won't drop straight in). I've got 6.5" JL co-axials in the front and they sound great and take power, but the bottom end is really lacking. You need door pods to really benefit.

if you need some autoleads adapter plates for the front doors to fit 17cm, just give me a shout i have a spare set doing nothing....can bring them to southend on the 22nd if your going???

quality, may just have to take you up on that offer

not a problem mate, i'll bring them anyway, and if ya want them you can have them, if ya dont them i guess i'll have to bring them back with me...lol

as for speakers i have had alpine, pioneer, rockford, vibe, and fusion.

do not get the fusion's i have found them to be total wank. the best i have found are the rockfords, vibe and pioneer, depending on what sound you want and if your going to amp them. but it would have to be close between the rockfords and the vibes, for overal quality and volume. hope this helps.
