Cappy
Hi guys.. Must be just me then with the fuel thing.. The new Scorpion Cat back system cost £270. I have just finished fitting it.. Not the greatest fit but wasnt too bad. Performance.. No reall difference.. throttle responce seems better at low revs, but then I have been driving around without an exhaust for a week. Sound: nice.. although my car is so well sound deadened that you cant really hear it. Amit

Cappy
Yeah it is S/S. Dunno if it would make any difference to a disel. Stick a Dunnel 2 litre Zetec in and then you should notice some difference Amit
Escort GTI
I used to have the same problem with my GTi, that you get better performance from the car with a fuller tank of fuel compared to a nearly on the E but then I changed to that Optimax fuel and now I have no problems What mods have you done? Cappy
I knew I wasnt mad Engine mods: just 57i induction kit and now a scorpion s/s exhaust. I tried the optimax fuel and didnt realy notice that much difference... on the other hand, I tried Texaco Super unleaded and the car went like a rocket.. I might try Optimax again for a few tanks.. give the ECU a chance to get used to it.. Amit
Al
I thought your car should go better with minimal fuel in the tank,´cos when full petrol(diesel) is a heavy liquid! Power to wieght thing? Alan.
Cappy
Yeah.. thats what I thought Thought it might be something to do with the ford ECU playing with the mixture or something as the fuel gets low.. I know that the ECU plays with the fuel gauge.. as the more you rag the car, the less fuel it shows, but when you come to a stand still or a more sedate pace, the needle goes up a bit. Al
I think the needle buisiness is just the fuel slopping around in the tank,
