Bennys_Si Posted July 30, 2006 Share Posted July 30, 2006 helllooooo well last night was a good night, the weather held out and turned into a great night, BUT for all those who said, " we wanna come, will be there!!" we have one word WHY???? all in all there were about 8 or 9 of us, but still it was a great night, started off over in lakeside, then headed down for a bite to eat. Went down to a small location with a nice 1/4 mile strip to put ralph's 2 litre orion, against the rs2k and we quite surprised at the results, but i have to hand it to ralph, i think his motor could underbrake most things on the road. lol big piles of smoke......lol basildon wasn't rammed, we think cos of the old bill, but still busy, then at about 2.30 the old school, mk2's showed and put up a small display of controlled drifting, gotta give respect to dudley inthe mk2 pastel blue escort, doing the drifting in the 98bhp motor, such control. hope everyone who went enjoyed it and we will al have to do it again soon. ANT Posted July 30, 2006 Share Posted July 30, 2006 was an excellent meet, cheers lisa/keith for the organising! cool drive down and the usuall evo convoy down which ended in 2 or 3 packs of cars all going different ways ! had a play with Ralph on the way down there and was honestly shocked at how close the st200 and the 2.0 Orion was in 1st and 2nd! ralph i dont know whats up with your car but it seems to like locking up at high speed on the a127! i'm so glad i was well out of the way on each occasion! just kept seeing clouds of smoke up ahead! sorry never came with you guys down to basildon, i did go through there about 1:30 but never saw any of you there. see you next week for those going Ford Fair, otherwise see you at the next essex meet Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Ex-Finesse Posted July 30, 2006 Share Posted July 30, 2006 Yep, a quality night! Glad the Team Fist Orion impressed all on the night!! The brakes are good....... but really could be better. The fluid is only Halfords own DOT 4, which is shocking! I had 5.1 in the escort and there was so much more pedal response! On the way home, at about 4.30am I really thrashed the car at the roundabouts around Dartford and Bluewater, and found the limit of the brakes The discs and pads were fine, but the fluid got too hot, so now I know it'll only do about 6 very hard stops in quick succession! Happy Keith liked the brakes though down the Canvey strip.... the tyres really are the weak point before the fluid overheats, so had to lift slightly each time the wheels started to lock! Anyway, bookings now being taken for the next 100-0 event Icing on the cake was a slightly, but visible, red glow from the manifold when I got home.... class! Fantastic night, great to meet Chris and Sarah, and the usuals! Thanks to ANT for quick trip in the new car! Think a Kent meet is on the agenda. Lets get that sorted!
