BlythMeister
Car: Ford Fiesta MK3, 1.4 Ghia Driving home along a road with parked cars.folowing some other car. all of a sudden the car i was following slammed on the brakes, and i did the same...i slid straight into the back of the other car the woman i hit jumpped out of the car, and screamed at someone who was driving the other way, saying "this would never have happened if you didn't pull out when we had right of way!!!" i was shocked, the woman i crashed into was defending me, saying it wasn't my fault :S ...to cut a long story short, i got the other 2 people's insurance details, and neither would take mine??? as far as the insurance company is concerned my car is a write off...although i know it isn't!!! i already have the parts that i will need, and they cost me £50!!! here are some pics of what my car looks like (havn't started work on it yet) Front A Little Crunched Bumper Crack Bonnet Pushed Up I need to pull the slam bar out!!!but then will all fit fine...i hope And the only damage on the car i hit, i broke the lower reflector!!!, of which you can see bits of stuck to my bumper!!! foxdie
wouldn't worry about it, we've all had a knock in our first cars. Perhaps in future you keep a little more space between the car your following.

Foxy
thing is, i have been driving for nearly 2 years !!! OOOooooo a whole two years? I've been driving for over 40 and have just 'got lucky.' It wouldn't surprise me a bit if I did precisely the same thing as you at some time - that's what accidents are, they're 'accidents.' I'm glad you weren't hurt - just remember the two second rule in future *says she in her holier than thou voice.* Chin up, worse things happen. BlythMeister
i have no idea what PMSL means?? but yeah i agree...insurance company's are way to happy to write of your car!!! they valued my car at apx £450, but then told me my excess was £400. and that i would end up with a massivce £50. so i basically told them where to stick there £50, and that i dun wanna claim!!! i then went to the scrap yard about 35-45mins away, and picked up a nice bumper and bonnet for £50, an now all i need to do is straighten it up a bit (a guy in my road has a phumatic pulling thingy), fit the bonnet an bumper, and it's ready for sale...for about £70 in total happy days
