rs2000 intake system

plans for my engine/transmission mods are:

 

-custom exhaust system/manifold

-ported/gas-flowed head & cams

-lightened/balanced bottom-end

-dastek or better

-lsd if possible

-grp n clutch or similiar

 

the only thing missing on the list is the intake system. i've been wondering if the whole intake system from the rs2000 might be interchangeable between the two engines as they are both Zetec-E's? i'm assuming the rs2000 intake system is better designed and performs better than the standard shite fitted on my 1.6 so basically it'll flow more air which is what this is all about in the end? any1's help would be greatly appreciated. thanx in advance!

just looking at that picture, surely the intake pipe being over the top of the exhaust manifold is very bad for the intake temperature, would be much better the way mine is round the top of the rocker cover rather than over it...

oh crap!

 

i misunderstood then. i thought someone said i could use the rs2k intake system on my engine, but what they meant is use part of the plenum and the throttle-body assembly and weld it to my current intake manifold and then tidy it all up inside. sounds a bit messy, but done properly will flow much better apparently.

 

JonC, didn't realise the intake system on the 1.8 was different to the 1.6, i'll look into that... you have a 2.0 zetec-e throtte-body? what's that like?
