Tez162003
Here you go guys, let me know what you guys think! Anyone disagree or agree with certain statements, and do you think the budget figures and power ratings are realistic?
Trig
well, after spending along time researching this myself, I challenge anyone to get 220bhp out of their zetec for 1.5k. Without cutting corners and sacrificing reliability, it just isnt happening. Yet another example of magazines dishing out inaccurate information. Special mention to N/A stage 2, by adding the stuff that helps the 2.0 make 136ps to the 1.8, you can make 140bhp I think they need to revist their numbers Edited September 1, 2007 by trig_112

Its the same size!!!
Stu
As per usual, inaccurate bullshite from magazines. Magazines exist for one purpose, to make money. They get given freebies by manufacturers to provide 'content' for people to pay for, which then entices advertisers to give them more money. It's just a business. Pinch of salt! Its the same size!!! No its not, thats why you have to heat up your air intake pipe to stretch it to fit for the 2l conversion
Craig855S
Well the 2.0 MAF i bought was the same housing as the 1.8 one with a different finis no sensor box ontop
Stu
I'm not sure quite sure why people even talk about MAF's in the context of upgrades anyway?
Craig855S
diameter of the inside. using a 2.0MAF on a 1.4 will improve it surely. The hole inside a 1.4 maf is 1/3 the size of the 2.0 one so surely u'd see increased airflow. Its the same for the 1.6 (it is noticeably bigger therfore will flow more air) (obviously u want to keep the sensor that came with the engine as that is calibrated for that ECU)
ChrisW
Stage 6 Turbo - £15, 000+ . Why not just buy a Cossie, least it will still have a decent value when you come to sell it!

A N/A engine will only consume what it wants to. This is called 'Volumetric Efficiency'. Something in an engine, something inbetween the air filter and the exhaust tailpipe will be the restrictive factor which limits the VE at a given point. Enlarging random parts of the inlet or exhaust tract does not improve anything, unless it's the most restrictive part of the system.
Tez162003
wow this was a flop of a thread, thought there would have been more opinions on this? oh well! guess stage 6 turbo zetec is all about Being Different, as everyone else would just do cossie route???
