bluliz
Zymol waxes and polishes are really good but for an Escort its not worth the expense (some zymol wax can cost up £1000 ) The opne mike linked to was £30,
Fat Del
Yeah I don't want to polishing it with stuff that costs more than the car
Mike C
You can still get very good results from megs and auto glym. You can make your car shine, but you can do 1000x better without spending the earth. The best wax I have is Zymol Vintage, which retails at just under £1900, but for starters, if anyone fancies checking out high end waxes, I'd highly recommend Zymol Concours, which retails at £164, but you might be able to track down a sample pot for a lot less but for someone who wants to step up a level from your run of the mill Autoglym and Meguiars type of products, I'd recommend this: http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/wax/poorboys...ue/prod_11.html but that is purely a wax, so don't expect to just slap it on and see great results, you need to do a bit more prep work The next step above that I'd recommend the Dodo Juice range http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/wax/dodo-juice/cat_59.html Get a small bottle of Lime Prime and whichever wax best suits your paint colour then above that, it's Zymol... But if you're going to use decent waxes like these, you need decent materials to use alongside them For a beginner that wants to try out this kind of thing, I would recommend the following products as a starting point -Sonus Der Wunder drying towel (this is a waffle weave towel, and is awesome. Steer clear of microfibres!) (use this for drying, obviously) -Sonus Der Wunder polishing towel (for applying your wax) -Sonus Der Wunder buffing towel (for removing your wax) -Sonus sheepskin/lambswool wash mitt (for washing) -Sonus sponge applicator pad (For applying your pre-wax cleanser) -Sonus Green Clay Bar (for deep cleaning/de-contaminating paint) (use your shampoo as lube or buy Sonus Lube too) -Dodo Juice Lime Prime (pre-wax cleanser) -Poorboys Natty's Blue Paste Wax or most suitable Dodo Juice wax -Chemical Guys Maxi Suds (For washing) For everything else you may want to do, wheels, interior etc, buy anything from the Chemical Guys range, it's nice and cheap, and all superb. (Like for wheels, use Chemical Guys wheel cleaner and then wheel protector as a wax, or just wax them using your Dodo Juice wax if that's what you're using) All the above products can be bought from cleanyourcar.co.uk, some of the items are available cheaper from various eBay shops (for Sonus products, look for the eBay shop "Specialist Vehicle Detailing)

Mike C
yes, but I prefer Diamond White. Slightly harder to use, but it will last longer and give more depth IMO
