Looks like I missed a good'un, but I couldnt say no to seeing my mum and nan (and the ticket to the city home game that came with it) See you all at the next one. Family has to come first Mr Trig so no worries there , It was a 1st class meet and lucky for me Rob - Bluliz came along as he managed to get some decent pictures and will do a write up so reid so stick it in the Clug Mag ,Between playing host to everyone and fitting the Kids seats as well as the usual bootsale member goings on time flew by,The locals with their chavvy motors did turn up thinking it was a cruise but even they were no trouble which took our numbers up to over 30 cars and bike so all in all have to say this one was a huge success ,but of coarse the members that travelled from far and wide made this meet a good one ,so big thanks to them Edited May 6, 2008 by 1pukkadeal Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Tez162003 Posted May 6, 2008 Share Posted May 6, 2008 indeed i was, i had not only car stuff too do like, still sort out the front end and get rid of all the old stuff like the old engine, gearbox, linkages, clutches, oils, starters, alts, crank, cams, pumps, wishbones, and a load of old crap out the garage! lol, poor little corsa! lol but i also had a ton of work work to do as i had a couple of private house extension jobs to draw up! Because turning up to a meet on your doorstep is easy, but when a good few hrs drive is required to support the club at various shows very few are willing. Although that said this years club stands are looking alot more full, we only had 4 for Classic Ford last year lol thats increased.... I know there aren't many actual shows further north, and the one's I have enquired about the organisers didnt even bother to get back to me. Only reason I brought my brother is because his RS is still an escort, and he isn't in a car club and likes meeting people that appreciate Fords. Just so you all know the bloke on the motorbike is my brother and the other guy with the Capri is a good friend of mine. The group that turned up later with the Volvo and other cars and parked next to us were mates that had just come past to say hello. They were well aware that it was not a cruise and just a meet. I thought it was the more the merrier, make it more interesting and something different to look at. TommyT Posted May 6, 2008 Share Posted May 6, 2008 Well in my eyes, the majority of meets are held more southern such as fitp, ford fair, the pod etc. If the likes of reid, Nadine and the other guys from as far as Scotland can get down to go ford fair, there is no reason everyone shouldn't be able to go. The local meets are a great laugh and as said by the locals turning up it's putting EVOs name out there; but if we had them turn outs to the shows we will have a great time.
