danposs86
Off to Santa Pod again, this time for the Classic Ford show. Started off bright and early just down the road at the meet point. Getting into the club was quite quick, which really can't be said for when I left. The weather was dry, but cloud. It did rain for a short while for about 10 minutes around midday, but the Pod people did a quick job getting the strip dry again. Now despite being at Santa Pod, I didn't actually get to see any of the 1/4 mile action. TBH I was having a great time on the club stand, we had a gazebo and BBQ which was cooking away all day, god knows how many burgers/sausages/chicken drumsticks/kebabs/streaks we went through, but everyone on the stand was well fed lol. Had a look around the club stands and the huge Classic Ford stand showing the latest restorations fresh to this years show season. There were some fantastic old Fords there, lost count of mk1 and mk2 Escorts, Capris, Cortinas and Anglias. Although I didn't see the strip, i did see the rally stage set up at the side of the strip along the grass where people could take their own cars on (resulting in some VERY muddy cars around the show) or pay for a passenger ride in one of a few mk2 Escort rally cars. There was also a drift section, for the good old Sierra Cosworths and early Escorts. However, at the time I was there we got to laugh at a couple of people trying and failing badly. As our stand was near the end of the 1/4 mile, I got to see plenty of the times for the cars (there were a few drag cars from some classic Ford drag series setting late 7's). As always, thanks to Trig for organising the stand Anyway, heres some of my pics (really didn't take many this time, too busy with burgers ) http://i306.photobucket.com/albums/nn272/shows-2008/classic_ford_june_08/DSCF7326.jpg http://i306.photobucket.com/albums/nn272/shows-2008/classic_ford_june_08/DSCF7328.jpg http://i306.photobucket.com/albums/nn272/shows-2008/classic_ford_june_08/DSCF7329.jpg http://i306.photobucket.com/albums/nn272/shows-2008/classic_ford_june_08/DSCF7335.jpg http://i306.photobucket.com/albums/nn272/shows-2008/classic_ford_june_08/DSCF7337.jpg http://i306.photobucket.com/albums/nn272/shows-2008/classic_ford_june_08/DSCF7340.jpg http://i306.photobucket.com/albums/nn272/shows-2008/classic_ford_june_08/DSCF7348.jpg http://i306.photobucket.com/albums/nn272/shows-2008/classic_ford_june_08/DSCF7349.jpg http://i306.photobucket.com/albums/nn272/shows-2008/classic_ford_june_08/DSCF7352.jpg http://i306.photobucket.com/albums/nn272/shows-2008/classic_ford_june_08/DSCF7355.jpg http://i306.photobucket.com/albums/nn272/shows-2008/classic_ford_june_08/DSCF7356.jpg http://i306.photobucket.com/albums/nn272/shows-2008/classic_ford_june_08/DSCF7361.jpg http://i306.photobucket.com/albums/nn272/shows-2008/classic_ford_june_08/DSCF7363.jpg ^^^ Loved this, the Gulf colours worked really well, was getting a lot of interest all day. http://i306.photobucket.com/albums/nn272/shows-2008/classic_ford_june_08/DSCF7368.jpg http://i306.photobucket.com/albums/nn272/shows-2008/classic_ford_june_08/DSCF7370.jpg http://i306.photobucket.com/albums/nn272/shows-2008/classic_ford_june_08/DSCF7371.jpg Edited June 2, 2008 by danposs86

Weezer
Before I say anything I'd just like to say the biggest thank you to Steve (1pukkadeal) and Wayne (heavyreightfoot) for cleaning my car on the stand yesterday. As you can see from the pics below it got a bit of dirt on it So thank you! Really cheered me up. What a smashing day it was, lovely to meet everyone again, and those I'd not met before. Just a shame I felt sh1tty most of the day. (I've never looked as rough in public on my whole life lol!!) However I did enjoy, and god - was there some lovely cars. Oh, and the jet car imo was awesom! Didn't take many pics either, was too weak to lift the camera really ...although I'm much better now and don't look a tramp anymore!Had so much fun in the mud! http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z242/blondie_Vi/menharry271-1.jpg http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z242/blondie_Vi/menharry272-1.jpg http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z242/blondie_Vi/menharry274-1.jpg http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z242/blondie_Vi/menharry275-1.jpg http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z242/blondie_Vi/menharry279-1.jpg NOT!!! I've been in this club a good few years now, and my attendance at shows is long long overdue. Had a really good day. Don't know if there was quite enough food though. Dan. You are the man. The pics are great. Trig, thanks for all your hard work. Everyone there, thanks.

danposs86
The mud looks pretty bad.... I didnt come to this as I doubled booked myself. Nice of you to let us know so we didnt wait around in a car park for you to turn up or anything Had a really good day. Don't know if there was quite enough food though. Your steaks put everything to shame! Although I think they may have needed a little longer on the grille Also, your sausage looks like a good show, not sure about all that mud though.. It didn't effect those that weren't camping, or on the rally stage. Which sounds like Kris did both
