New Mk6 Escort Lower Strut Brace

As discussed in the thread here, I have made a lower strut brace based on the now out of stock escort cabriolet item.

Shown above is my strut brace in red primer next to the ford item,

it will come in satin black finish and include fixings

Fitting is the same as the Ford item:

Un-bolt the front wishbone bolts and pull clear to drop through the end bolts then assemble, the centre fixing is a bit of a pain because its beneath the steering rack. So you either un-bolt the rack and fix rear bolt and reassemble, or if your very careful and have a slim 17mm spanner you can do it up with out removing the rack :)

I'm running a batch of 10 initially which I'm looking to dispatch 10/11/08,

if you want to pre-order your brace please click here

£44 + £6 p&p

Looks good Dan, i'll be getting another mk6 in next week or so hopefully so will be looking at getting one of these shortly, im only in maldon to so can drive over to braintree.

Yeah that is fine mate, give me a shout when you want one and I'll reserve one :)

any more info on this centre fixing as from the picture it looks like it bolts to each side and nothing in the centre so am not understanding why you need to unbolt the rack?

you also need a near side inner cv boot urs is split/ leaking cv grease

There is a centre bolt which locates through a hole in the subframe where the steering knuckle is, I'll get a photo up soon

And its not my car but cheers for the heads up, I'll pass it on :thumb:

I am changing my gearbox and subframe to RS2k items so will this still fit?

Unfortunately I don't know if the subframe is suitable for the brace or if it will clear the MTX gearbox, Stu is going to let me know if it fits his xr3i so that may help :thumb:
