DJ
ive got a Dell latitude D620 laptop and ive just noticed that the cd drawer wont open. ive been online to look for a solution but cant find one. ive found how to get the drawer open by using a paper clip in the tiny hole but once i closed it again it wouldnt open. i put a cd in the drawer before closing it and it wasnt recognised its like it doesnt exist. ive been into my settings and says the device is working correctly and also searched for updates etc with no joy am i missing something obvious? in advance

andaba
Sounds like the drive has quite simply done a Jacko and kicked the bucket. Maybe a component inside has just given way?Shouldn't be too hard to replace. You just need to source one to fit first....
