owens130 Posted August 15, 2009 Share Posted August 15, 2009 the passion ford meets on a wednesday down the front was always busy,but the only downside is the RSOC and passion ford have many more followers than this site im afraid. i am more than happy and willing to do a week night meet, all people have to remember is its the people that turn up that make it, it will take its time to stabilise and become busier as more people hear about it and attend. perhaps if a week night is an option maybe a smaller place like a pub would be more suitable than say basvegas?? shane-h Posted August 15, 2009 Share Posted August 15, 2009 i dont want to sound funny but why dont we just organise an essex meet as the original post, and if people are interested in doing a south east meet then perhaps they should try and come along to the meet and show thier interest in person. This post has been going for long enough for people to show interest and im afraid they didnt untill the poll was added to the post and i think we should have the meet at basildon and then perhaps at a later date we could look at a larger area. Why dont we look into having a meet once a month in different areas as i suggested earlier on in the thread this would be able to cover a larger area righty, i showed an intrest in a south east meet with the possibilty of a southend trip towards the end of the month, but i can only do the friday or saturday evenings due to the distance/ work and kids etc, obviously im not the only member that wants to do a regular meet but imo, if there was to be a south east meet or a essex meet with the hope of south east members showing an interest then a weekday eve is probably not the best time to have it also, what areas are covered by the southeast? as i asked the question about this and about set area reps and got the answer that trig?? deals with all of this stuff, is there set areas or is it just a free for all? it all seams very confusing when i (and i'm sure others) want to meet up with like minded enthusiasts on a regular basis also, on another note, if say there was a meet organised for the south east (say brighton) would you be willing to travel down on a week night? If you feel so strongly about having a meet that caters for yourself, pm trig and sort something out maybe in an area closer to yourself,but the fact is this was and is an essex meet and if you are willing to travel up on your own terms then fine, if it were a surrey meet i wouldnt be getting the arse because i couldnt go. If u say lakeside or even basildon then thats a distance for people who live in colchester way, wherever your going to have people who are feeling its too far away. So on that account i reckon if u said right its in basildon and thats that then so be it. Basildon i feel is pretty central IMO- people living in chelmsford and colchester its just a case of a12, a130, people who live over dartford area its only down the m25 a little then a127, or even down the a13. Do u see what im kinda gettig at here. Lakeside is a good venue in the evening but not necessarily good for food as its a big place and is spread out. As for leaving your car in festival leisure park, well go down there on a saturday night and u often see cars like m3's, range rovers, subarus etc left in the car park, ive never worried about leaving my escort in there. I think time wise sunday afternoon is pretty ideal, i know me for one finds sunday afternoon a bit of a nothing time when im normally just out with friends anyway or finding something to do. Passion ford meets first wednesday of the month is a good ford meet to altho doing evenings will create issues for people who maybe work late or have long distance to travel from work hence once home, showered dinner etc time is getting on. Charley Posted August 20, 2009 Author Share Posted August 20, 2009 Well so far the majority are ruling for a weekend and the poll is showing Sunday at 2pm to be most favourable. I will continue the poll until tomorrow night but after that there will be a date set for the meet depending on the ending poll result. If I'm being honest I can't see that we are going to be able to fit many weeknight meets in before it starts to get dark early in the evening so I do feel that a weekend meet would be preferable as we can meet earlier on in the day. The meet went well last year being on a Sunday at 2pm and there was plenty of attendee's and we can still have something to eat and/or drink. I will sort out a date and a meet thread for everyone to put down their name who wants to come along.
