IE8 also doesn't suffer from this. BTW.

 

It suffers from all the other security issues known to man.

 

Opera/Chrome for speed and security

 

 

 

Just for information sake, IE8 is the most up to date secure browser you will find right now, those who shunned IE in the past (me included) should seriously consider revisiting IE in its present form as its truly wonderful browser & for now second to none.

This isnt an oppinion btw its due to extensive browser usage on a large scale in a multi user environment.

Mate im not trying to prove you wrong or argue nor am I using random graphs, im talking real world usage & trouble free browsing experience. As for you saying its my oppinion well the reason I said it wasnt was that my findings were down to varied testing under different real world office & tutor room including feedback from the end users (roughly 70 users). Its also not all down to speed, you have to take compatibility, security & trouble free usage under different conditions.

Right OK I know where you are coming from then.

I'm just saying that from the "testing" you said...was it a test of different browsers doing tasks?

I know the factors of a good browser aren't just speed as well.

Look up the ACID test.

 

I found IE8 was neither quick or secure, with a lot of pop ups and other stuff.

Have you tried Firefox/Opera/Chrome?

I used Firefox for years tricky, only swapped to IE again about 3-4 months ago as firefox seemed to be lacking on all fronts so gave IE in its 8 version a go again. Ill admit I havnt used chrome though, opera I wasnt impressed at all.

Im not experiencing popups as you suggest & everything is both fast & smooth. I use Microsoft security essentials as my security after again many years of advising Avast (still a great antivirus btw).

How come you hated Opera so much?

 

That's all I use, however it isn't too friendly with facebook so I use IE8 for that.

Ill vouch for Pete's statement, IE8 is indeed a qaulity browser now.
