I was not sure on the gear knob when you mentioned it, but actually it looks quite nice mate!

Nice progress and welcome to the club. :thumb:

Thank you

Got some new spark plugs on there way should be with me by next week hopefully along with the front grill. At the moment the front bumper is held on by 4 screws and 2 tiewraps hopefully that should be enough to get it through the MOT. The car will be going in for it's MOT as soon as i go in for my practical. When the car was smashed into quite a lot of body work was damaged. I have been trying to dig up pictures of the damage from my friend as he took the pictures, when i find they shall be posted here.

??? Quick Question To Escorters ???

  • Does anybody know what the actual colour of my car is or it's colour code to buy from halfords?

Its amparo blue mate

Thanks guys just wanna get the paint for the wing thats all, also it has a honeycomb grill on it now but i just haven't taken a recent picture of the front yet lol. I actually have another grill on the way anyway :)

Do halfords go by the name of amparo blue then?

honestly your better off not buying halfords paint. i get it off a company online in bigger cans, better nozels, cheaper and better colour match and when i finally get my desktop computer back off my dad (upgraded it now he's using it as his has a virus that prevents logging on) i can get the link as i need to order can or 2 for my mondeo when i do the arches and door handles.

codes on slam panel, iirc its on bottom left and is a letter and number which refers to year and colour. it hink mine was something like D7 meaning aubergine 1997.

grills going in post monday as brother forgot it this morning and i hadnt wrapped till yesterday :D

Sooooo, It is time for an update.

With the new bonnet and bumper fixed i asked my step dad to sort out the rust so the car would get through it's MOT as it would have failed due to something about being sharp to pedestrians or some crap. With that all in place i got some spray paint this morning to spray over the filler, also to do the wing.

Here are some images:

The rust filled and painted not the best job but it will see me through for now and will pass through the MOT
