hi, i have a bit of a problem with my mk6, when im driving i can hear a noise which i can only describe as a galloping noise if that makes sense? it seems to be coming from the passenger side front but im not 100% sure & its slowly started to get worse the last week or so. also, when im driving i put my foot on the accelerator & the car pulls to the left & when i let off the accelerator it corrects itself & comes back to normal.

any help would be appreciated. cheers

It could well be the wishbone bushes mate. Common problem on the mk5 and mk6 escorts. But to check ud need to get the car in the air to inspect it. Pattern parts are really cheap to come by. I'm based in Essex. So if u wanted the work done pm me as I can do the lot for ya.

hi mate, i've just jacked it up & theres a lot of play in the drivers side wheel when i hold it in the 9 & 3 position, it moves from side to side when in the air & even when lowered to the ground. i take it the wishbone needs replacing? im gonna pm u now fella.

this also could be steering ball joints as 9 & 3 position denotes a left to right motion so check you steering ball joints as well

A near destroyed CV joint will also produce all his symptoms (incuding 360 irregular wheel movement) and is even more likely when you take the constant movement noise he's experiencing.

sorry guys i forgot 2 add that sometimes whilst im driving the wheel sorts of slips if that makes sense & when i let off the accelerator it goes back to normal. the only way i can explain it is it feels like when ur sliding on ice lol sort of as it the wheel buckles in & then comes back out.

9 and 3 i would say track rod end as mine was like this las week!!!

12 and six for bearings

could still be ball joints or wishbones

hold the track rod a you move it and you will tell

hi mate, i'll check in the morning but when i was moving the wheel side to side the wishbone was moving aswell which leads me to think its gone?

yeah mate it was moving up & down a fair bit as if it was loose tbh even though it was'nt as i checked all the bolts yet the passenger side wasn't moving at all iirc or if it was it was only a tiny bit.
