Roof bars

Anyone on here do mountain biking? What do you use to transport your bike on your Escort (GTi)? Do you use roof bars with bike carriers, or a carrier on the boot?

I've a halfords thing that doesn't fit over the spoiler!

 

was looking at the thing that clips onto a tow bar

 

but at the moment tend to use quick release wheels and put the back seat down

my brother-in-laws bike fits in mine with the back seat down and the front wheel off.

 

helps that the bikes one of those stupidly expensive pro ones with the quick release wheels and handle bar controlled suspension setups.....honestly, who ays 2k for a secondhand mountain bike ffs!!!

if your not so keen on putting it into the car, i use a carrier that laches onto a towbar, fits exactly the same as a trailer but holds your bike, got mine off ebay for £40

used to have a carrier on the back of my focus and C4 but since having gone back to escorts its not secure with the spoiler,

So goes in the car
