Fitted the coilovers today.

Dropped it on the floor, bounced on the front a little bit to settle it and hell yes it looked absolutely mega, perfect height i wanted a the front. It didn't hit the bump stops when i bounced up and down on it, i could get full lock, mega!

So i takes it up the road to have a feel of the shocks and goes to take the right hander and the steering wheel locked up. Oh sh!t, what happened there then, gingerly took it back to the workshop. Hops under the front of it, oh bugger, my steering arms are catching the steering rack. So i've had to raise it about 3/4 of an inch to stop it catching under braking/bumps :(

The height is not so good now, it's way to high, looks like it should have come out of the factory like that. I was raising it 1mm at a time and everytime it was still catching when two people hopped on the bonnet and my face was getting longer and longer.

Got a rough suspension set up though. Handles good round the corners, nice and level, no roll, back end stayed in shape. Happy with that part, but i think something is going to have to be done about the ride height, it's got to go lower, somehow, it's got to go lower, whether i space the steering arms off the rack or what, it has to go lower.

Then, as the car is sitting there idling, we're having a chat and i'm going into selective hearing mode, i hear a horrible rumbling, so i walk round to the engine bay and i knew it was the water pump. So i get a lever bar, stick it on the pump body and sure enough, my few month old brand new pump's bearings are rattling around. So i need another water pump now, it'll have to be an electric one. *goes off to Demon-Tweeks website to order a pump*

Looks good.

What's your car history (as in, cars on the road)? How long have you been driving?

Where did you buy the failoed water pump, is it not under warranty?

It doesn't anymore, that arch gap is disgraceful.

None and err. Only lessons.

Speedy Spares in Brighton, idk really, it's N/O/S i think. So i doubt it.

When do you plan to sit a test?

A decades old car, floored, is a brave move for a new driver. Hopefully we won't see this in a ditch.

You could still try for a refund on the pump. I woud, but I wouldn't buy a cheap-rubbish one to start with :P

In the near future.

You wont :)

Cheap? You're having a laugh arent you? £95 + VAT, it's a standard genuine Roots pump for an Imp. They're a shite design in the first place, Dads always telling me about how bad they are and how many he's changed, i never believed they were this bad!

Bad news gutted about the height and pump.

The height sucks! It was always gonna have an electric one though.
