JC
Recaro is a much better choice! The classic recaro would look spot on, but guess the prices is silly money!
Andyb0127
Looking good mate. The runs your on about on the wing could be from paint overlap, meaning if you paint the wing first you will overlap into the door, then you paint the door next starting at top by front wing moving towards quarter panel then back towards the front wing, but you won't stop at door edge you will overlap into the front wing, so this cause paint overlap and you have applied slightly more paint down that wing edge causing a thicker build of materials hence why you prob had runs in that area of the wing............... Ahmotorsport
Recaro is a much better choice! The classic recaro would look spot on, but guess the prices is silly money!I was originally getting them for the runners to mount the other seats too, then i sat in the Recaro whilst drinking a coffee and thought "This is comfy, i like this" And keeping the Bucket for my next project (coming soon) will save me a couple of hundred bob. So they're my reasons for the Recaros. Looking good mate. Thank you Sir, this has been bugging me for yonks!
Ahmotorsport
Repaired and fitted the other Recaro today. Then i thought "Hmmm, what shall i do now.... I know! I'm fed up with seeing the front of it jacked up in the air" So i got the wheels and coilovers off (One of which being an absolute c*nt! The shaft span with the top nut, so i had to release the mounting bracket, two of the bolts are under the hood next to the fuel tank, so i had to release the fuel tank, lever it up just to get them out) cut two coils off the springs, and flatted them down with heat. Needs to go lower imo... http://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae68/Ahmotorsport/P240911_1202.jpg Recaro Repaired http://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae68/Ahmotorsport/P240911_1245.jpg Fitted to runners http://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae68/Ahmotorsport/P240911_1354.jpg And in! http://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae68/Ahmotorsport/P240911_1544.jpg Loadsa droop! http://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae68/Ahmotorsport/P240911_1538.jpg Spring cut and flatted http://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae68/Ahmotorsport/P240911_1820.jpghttp://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae68/Ahmotorsport/P240911_1820_01.jpghttp://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae68/Ahmotorsport/P240911_1821.jpg Neggy camber! http://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae68/Ahmotorsport/P240911_1823.jpg

Stu
How do you intend to control body roll now you've cut the springs? Nice blue. I'd prefer a black grille to silver personally.

I'd prefer a black grille to silver personally. It will be having Spax Coilies relatively soon (already got Spax adjustable rears) i'm not one for cutting springs, i think it's a bodge, but i couldn't picture the height i wanted, so this was purely to get a rough idea of spring length so i know what to ask Faulkners for. It is nice, didn't like it at first, it's grown on me though. It's actually a white grill and i did think about a black one on Saturday to match the mirrors and door handles. Also if it's really lucky it will get a Hillman Avenger anti roll bar at the front.

sidrick
Quite an effort gone in there and it's good to see other users helping out I wish I had the facilities to take on long-term jobs like this. There's an Audi S2 close to me that is as cheap as chips, but needs more doing to it than I can manage in my driveway

It is indeed, i'd never expect anyone to give me polishing equipment, so i do appreciate it. Hmm :/ Driveways are fine up until the point of painting. I've been quite lucky with this, it's always been inside really.

Yes I could google but I'm lazy Oh yeah i wouldn't keep them on there, i think they fail an MOT anyway? Umm, depends really, usually a very rot one is a couple of hundred, although this one was a bargain. A Mint one is about 3 - 5K and a full all out spaceframe race one is about 16k
