Yeeeeah boy. She's coming along now. I like a lot. Really starting to like older motors now (I think the lads at work are to blame/thank with all their westminsters/Cambridges etc) lol

Going to look great when it's finished

Corr! Brilliant! Everyones gotta love a classic, i'd like to see modern cars last 35 years :thumb:

Well i dunno about that but i'll do my best. I can already see that my lack of filler skills has let it down, luckily i'm not really into concours bodywork, i'd rather have the goods under the hood, although i've really enjoyed it.

I've finished flatting the roof and a rear wing. So i sat back to have a look at it and noticed my rear drum is gold? When i first had the drums off i hammerited them smooth silver, so why is it gold? I'm baffled :pancake:

Is it solid gold?

Haha, i wish. I don't understand though? It's only that drum, not a lick of gold paint has been near it.

Looking good so far mate, should be proud of yourself thats alot of time and effort you have put into this, but the best part will be when its finished and you can stand back admire it and go i did that well done mate :thumb:

Thanks pal, the car will look better i think, fair amount of orange peel in the hood. Haha i honestly can't wait. I'd do the car now if i had enough hardener :(

I was jumping on hot coals in between coats couldn't wait to get back in and spray :pancake:

Thats just it, it's weird, i'd rather have a not so good paint job/body work and say i did it rather than an immaculate paint job and say someone else did it, strange that?

That will be the adrenaline/excitement about spraying mate and eager to get the next coat of paint on lol i kniw that feeling from years back when i started painting all those years ago lol.

Orange peel can be easily rectified with flatting and polishing ie wet flat paint with P2000 then P3000 then use an electric polisher and compound back up again.

Or another way bit more long winded but involves flatting yiur new paint untill orange peel is removed being carefull not to go through on any edges, then spray as panels as you did before.

Doesnt matter what it looks like mate all that matters is your happy with the end result and sur you have enjoyed doin it bet you will itchin for another project once this ones done :thumb:

I'll have to get some p2000 and p3000 then. Any particular polish you'd recommend?

Too right :thumb:

Nice to see some colour on it :-)

Indeed it is :) Shame it's the wrong colour xD Too dark me thinks.

As your air drying it mate id leave it for as long as possible at least a week, let the paint fully cure and harden properly. :thumb:

Really appreciate this mate and all your help.

Not a problem, have to get some more hardener when i'm not poor too. Found that one of the tins i had already hardened in the tin with a layer of liquid on top :(
