danj8608
Update. Mock fitted mk6 parts, when you go to the lengths to go mk5 you remove the mk6 headlight mounts and caress (read bash) the mounting panel. So I basically need a front panel fitting yet more work to add to the list couple of pics plus some of the dash.http://i251.photobucket.com/albums/gg287/danieljackson8608/IMAG0095.jpghttp://i251.photobucket.com/albums/gg287/danieljackson8608/IMAG0094.jpgDashhttp://i251.photobucket.com/albums/gg287/danieljackson8608/IMAG0096.jpgRoof lininghttp://i251.photobucket.com/albums/gg287/danieljackson8608/IMAG0098.jpg Few pics of the axle and whats been done to it http://i251.photobucket.com/albums/gg287/danieljackson8608/IMAG0099.jpghttp://i251.photobucket.com/albums/gg287/danieljackson8608/IMAG0104.jpgWhat you can see in these pics is an extra leaf spring in the middle, longer U bolts, old spring mount, I kept the old mounts as it made it easy to line up the new mounts underneath and if ever I had to go back to standard height I could.http://i251.photobucket.com/albums/gg287/danieljackson8608/IMAG0106.jpgI took out the load bias valve, I'm told you can adjust them but mine was seized so I binned it.http://i251.photobucket.com/albums/gg287/danieljackson8608/IMAG0107.jpgAnd finally while I was under there I under sealed the whole of the van, I have had various plates welded but on the whole the underside was tidy. etrebus
seriously you need to fit another load sensing valve .you are going to lock up rear brakes if you dont unless your van is always fully laden
minirotty
seriously you need to fit another load sensing valve .you are going to lock up rear brakes if you dont unless your van is always fully laden Good recommendation that, didn't realise you'd removed it? It's easily adjusted. I was going to adjust mine but I was lucky in being able to have the one off of the van I got the rear disc beam from so already done. The back end will just keep locking up on you if not done correctly. Also you have no bump stops? just cut them down as theyre best kept also. danj8608
Minor update Raised the suspension up so its 35-40mm from standard, sold the flocked dash as it annoyed me too much and I have got it running.http://i251.photobucket.com/albums/gg287/danieljackson8608/th_VIDEO0002.jpg Still loads to do but its a step in the right direction. danj8608
The van now has fully functioning brakes all round and 85% of the brake lines are now redone in copper piping, also fuel tank is finally fitted. I made a start fitting my intercooler too so I drilled the front panel to mount up the ic.http://i251.photobucket.com/albums/gg287/danieljackson8608/IMAG0165.jpg Sits perfect in the bumper but issues with the supplied pipe work means I need to get creative with some focus tdci parts to get it all to work the way I want, next week its gear linkage and exhaust system final fit.
