buttonboi Posted December 24, 2011 Share Posted December 24, 2011 Whats up guys, just wondering if anyone can link me up to a decent set of springs and shocks for my escort GTI, it's R registered so I bileve 1997, Im looking for 35 or 40 mm springs, I can only find a PI set on eBay and have no previous experience with this manufacturer! All the gmax eibach and apex kits I've seen all quote "excl GTI", if anyone could point me in the right direction or if You've heard good things about PI that would be great! SLEEMAN Posted December 24, 2011 Share Posted December 24, 2011 All escort springs are pretty much the same it's just on escort gti's they had lower springs than standard escorts drop factory to get the gti look so any of them will do and get eibach ones for just springs on your old shocks or invest in some new shocks maybe and new top mount bushes etc also take a look an inspect the old suspension parts and if any need replacing then replace them as its peace of mind Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Im gona stick with standard GTI alloys for now, probably look at getting cossies in a few months, don't wana be too low and I got a feeling 60mm will be to low for me! buttonboi Posted December 26, 2011 Author Share Posted December 26, 2011 Cheers guys really appriciate the help, i was gona say i couldnt see much differecne in looks between 40 and 50 mm, but then i realised its gona be pretty hard to see 1 cm from pics, i really like the way the escort sits at around the 40mm mark. Whatever happens im gona be buying springs the end of this week, so i hope i can find something decent by then, the only kits i can find are gmax and PI, so im undecided on them after some comments and some reviews ive read online, id love to go to coilovers, if i can get £350 together ill buy them off paul (i think its paul) he posted a thread in "for sale". if i cant stretch that far ill get the best i can for now and when i got spare cash ill go for something better. ive got a few days before i buy them yet so if anyone comes across anything intresting let me know.
