Estate suspension set up

I swear ive asked this before but i couldnt seem to find anything on it so ill go again!

I want to lower my estate about 40mm to stiffen her up a bit,

I dont want to drop silly money on a set up although i am aware you do get what u pay for,

Im not interested in cheap coilovers anyway.

So fat i was thinking two options,

1. Get NEW ( decent like boge or similar) shocks front and rear and fit a set of apex lowering springs which drop 40mm

2. Weitec or spax front shocks and the same spax springs?

The first is a damn site cheaper however is it worth the extra to get aftermarket shocks?

I dont want it silly stiff, im just trying to find out if springs alone would be suficiant?

Ive had lowering springs on my fiesta st and focus mk1 and was massivly impressed, but cant seem to find a set for the escort (super sport) estate :D

I mean do u rekon my original plan of freshening up the suspension a bit with new shocks and a set of decent (probably H&R) springs would suffice then Stu? Ive already done lower arms, links, track rod ends and anti-roll bar bushes.

Lets be honest its an estate! And its never seeing a track and my missus gets the hump as i swear everytime i hit a pot hole!

Both to be honest however id have to go a long bloody way to make her look pretty!

Its mainly to improve the handling, thanks for replying!

If you looking for better handling you need to aim towards the more expensive kits in my opinion. Any cheap kit can lower a car.
