stevmo3691
I had a head gasket go on a 91 toyota corolla 1.6 (4AF engine - carb) and that was a low mile (59K) with elderly owner. basically what we worked it out to be is age of the material combined with the fact older drives dont go much above 3K revs and I did a bit more (2 days after i passed my test I hit the red line followed by cloud of smoke out the exhaust - mine blew throwing water and oil into cylinders and oil in to the water but no water in to the oil) clutch at so low mileage will be same as why my gandpas micra had so 3 clutches with him in 72K and 19 years is that he used to drive old cars where you had no synchro and had to match revs to gear and it was just easier to rev the engine and slip the clutch. Thats my theories anyway Glad you restored it, I may have moved on to bigger and better cars but I still have a soft spot for them
