Ahmotorsport
Another one we've got on the go, it's from a Mondeo, the all Aluminium lump for a Focus ST170 as the car needs to lose weight, this is the solution. This will be a slower build than the other one. Spec: Stock crank (Good for 9000RPM)Forged RodsForged PistonsAHM HeadAHM designed Kent CamsVernier Pulleys48mm Jenveys Our own exhaust most likely. Would be good to break the 300BHP mark this time, but we'll see. http://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae68/Ahmotorsport/WP_000172.jpg http://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae68/Ahmotorsport/WP_000173.jpg Manifold roughly matched to the port Then do this for all four http://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae68/Ahmotorsport/WP_000175.jpg http://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae68/Ahmotorsport/WP_000174.jpg http://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae68/Ahmotorsport/WP_000178.jpg http://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae68/Ahmotorsport/WP_000177.jpg Nearly all smoothed out http://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae68/Ahmotorsport/WP_0001752.jpg Ports on the floor http://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae68/Ahmotorsport/WP_000180.jpg One port done at the manifold end And that's all for now. Ahmotorsport
This build has started again, but before i start posting the pictures let me just make something clear. This thread is NOT for other engine builders to learn what works and what doesn't. This thread is NOT to help the competition in any way shape or form. This thread is NOT for me to give you free development information. I'm trying this one more time, if i get a load of stick like the last one, i wont do it again, what you've got to remember is, this is for your benefit, not ours, unless one of you lot wants one xD. This thread is to show people that don't build engines, what is involved. I don't mind telling you a little bit about it but i'm not going to start saying "We use these pistons because they do such and such" "You do this because it allows this to do this better" To all you nay sayers, i'm not interested in what you've got to say, i want no negativity in this thread, negativity gets you nowhere and i'll have none of it. We've been building these engines for years and they've always proved powerful and reliable, end of chat. Right lets move on. You will be allowed to know all the figures at the end, i may be allowed to post up the dyno sheet, but i can't guarantee that at this present time, but i will ask. This engine WILL be 300BHP. We've been itching for it for too long for it not to be and no Stu, i don't care what Ford Motorsport managed, i don't care if there engine is far superior in every way and that we're sh!t. I don't need to hear it. Spec. SLEEMAN
Looking good matey! Quick question how much would it cost if you done one of these for me for example? As I'm building my escort as a track car so a decent and good engine would be nice!

As I'm building my escort as a track car so a decent and good engine would be nice! Thanks pal. That depends on the horsepower you want. An engine build can be up to £1000 which includes: Dummy build.Measure it all.Adjust as necessary.Final assembly. + The cost of parts. What horsepower are you after and i can give you a better price. SLEEMAN
Well I would like as much as possible lol so would consider a 2.0 blacktop with as much as possible that could also still be road legalish? If that's possible lol

Probably don't need to on a 4 pot. Don't look like ARP's so no worries.

It's common practice to line hone the mains on the V8 Modular with either the two or four bolt ARP main studs. Using stock OEM bolts / Crank then it's not nesessary. Am gonna get a line hone on my build regardless.
