Right,

 

Been on the forum with previous cars but not for a few years now.

 

Glad to say ive stayed with the blue oval including a couple of new st focus's and fiestas, a sapg and a few rst.

 

However a series of unfortunate events led me to having to buy an emergency motor on boxing day, being loyal to the brand i landed this as cars where thin on the ground 2 days after christmas!

69k miles

Soild underneath (been undersealed annualy)

Every bit of history from day dot

And to top it all off the previous owner had the Same name as me! Lol (doesnt happen often does it)

 

Heres the reason i had to get a car......

 

 

 

 

And heres how she was when i brought her -

 

 

Lowered including;

New front and rear shocks

Apex 40mm springs

New lower arms inc polybushes

New anti-rollbar bushes

New track rod ends

New drop links.

New top mounts

 

 

 

Recaro interior! Love this

Also done white dials as didnt even have a rev counter before!

Right the plan was to keep it for a month or so and then get something newer however i realized how much i loved my old escorts and now want to keep her and turn her into a bit of a sleeper, just for a bit of a giggle, im not going to throw cash at it willy nilly as i know its not worth it, however it will be a proper laugh if all goes to plan!! (Im sure you lot will understand where im coming from here)

Im not going to make up some pie in the sky imaginary garret blown 2.1 zetec turbo dream here just a rough honest realistic (boring to some of you im sure :pancake: )

Idea of what i plan to do

 

16'' Mondeos - already purchased collecting Thursday (Might make the car look like ive actually lowered it eh)

Sort out the rust patch on the boot and spray the boot and bumper (work in a bodyshop so jus pay materials :cheers:)

2.0 zetec with a set of cams and lightly ported head

heavier duty clutch

Few gauges on the center console (seen a few people on here do it, liked it!)

300mm brake upgrade

 

and then more and more to come......

Righty, little update.

 

Got myself some mondeys, i rekon they look pretty smart, trying to maitain the whole 'sleeper' thing so wanted to stick to ford rims.

 

Not painted great so im going to refurb properly soon and maybe not go with the black, what do you rekon?

Sure, if done properly. Porting heads isn't just about creating a larger port, it's about the shape of the port. Standard head is good to about 170bhp n/a with a suitable package around it. Anything up to 300bhp is possibly with some serious work! £10k++

And the new head............ Lightly Ported and polished with larger (blacktop) inlet valves.

Exhaust valves are the same size. It's the exhaust ports which are the restriction on the head. Porting the inlet without the exhaust will gain you nothing, but potentially make the engine make less torque everywhere.
