JAMGTI
. Has p4u1 still got his for sale click would look good in amparo or carbon wrapped to help hide the aerocatches. seen minirotty's bootlids on rs2000-16v.com, they do look good but do they need work to fit all the electrics and other bits that would be fitted to a road going cars bootlid. He told me they were exact like for like, my stuff will just transfer over fine, are you suggesting otherwise? No not at all. i've seen a couple of pics and looks like holes for fixing various boot parts would need to be made which track cars wouldn't need. bootlid they do look good and well made though. Naylor2006
If I'm thinking of where your getting it from, the fibreglass one is lighter than the carbon version? And as for the boot, I've got one and not much work in swapping the wires over of you take your time with it. For my last tailgate swap I swapped everything over, it was easy, theres not alot of wiring down there, I won't be using a key lock or anything, the only thing hard about it was fitting the thing to the car cause it was so heavy. . As far as wiring jobs etc the tailgate is towards the easier end to be fair. Don't suppose you can share the pics here dude, I wouldn't want to sign up just to look at pictures, feels a bit cheap. Ahmotorsport
Personally, i think Carbon looks alright, i probably wouldn't get one for mine but, it's alright. But if you're going to have it, don't paint it, it's sort of defeating the object really (i'm talking track terms now) why buy a lightweight panel and add weight to it? Paint is quite heavy. Before Eeyore comes along, of course, it would look silly having Carbon wings, blue bootlid etc, but if you're having just the bonnet.

Has anyone got these sorted up for the road? Looks lush but seems like alot more work than originally expect, it's not really a swap Edited June 26, 2012 by Naylor2006
GingeRS2K
Can't have wipers, boot popper, rear heated window. Think all they need is fog light wiring and that's it. Perspex window FTW Oh and the lock mechanisms too Edited June 26, 2012 by GingeRS2K

Perspex window FTW Oh and the lock mechanisms too Can I still keep heated windscreen? Are you saying its not possible? I don't want lock, can use my cable release that I got, I only want fogs and rear heated screen? tell ya what naylor you buy a fibreglass boot for me, and you can collect my boot, its red yes but still great condition!! and we can sort out a deal You'd have to paint it and fit it for me lol, it's £230 odd for a fibreglass tailgate + fuel. I'd happily pay for half a tailgate for you if you would cut the relevant cuts in mine for bits! Really want resr heated screen too, two fog lights and those three pin things which meet the contacts on the bumber, well boot trim bit.

It's sold mate...I enquired about it!! I got a carbon-fibre bonnet..bought it cheap as it was slightly damaged!! I filled it and did some work on it and sprayed it matt black, but is well light and lightens up the front end a tad on my front heavy diesel van!! I couldn't give a monkeys what others think, what is important is what you like! So if you like a black bonnet, paint it black, if you like it carbon look, great, if you want to colour code it that's great too! "Know Thyself"!! It's you driving it my friend, so do up your car as you like it.. it's a reflection of you, a reflection of yourself, so don't go trying to please others you hear?? GingeRS2K
Think u need a ground earth for the heated windscreen on the boot itself. Plus with the weight of Perspex vs Glass is a big difference.

Naylor2006
Dreams over, been warned off using fibreglass tailgate on a daily driver, wont seal like the metal unit and as I have no garage its gonna get rained on. Oh well, off to get another insane quote for mine to be reshapped and sprayed again, god damn body shops round here.
SLEEMAN
Well how long can you wait for matey? As I can try to get my tailgate done ASAP but as said really need something to go by if it's got to be matched lol
